In a surprise move, the Duchess has teamed up with the BBC to support a new platform that provides resources to parents and carers of children below the age of five.

For the grand announcement, Catherine made a surprise visit to meet some of the key people involved in its creation – wearing a dress that was just as vibrant as the initiative itself.

In a move announced by the Palace on Tuesday morning (AEST), the Duchess has officially joined forces with the BBC to launch the Tiny Happy People initiative.

To mark its launch, she visited three families with young children who had been involved in fine-tuning the project, which helps to provide a range of free digital resources that have been specifically designed to support parents and carers.

She was well and truly in her element for the event, speaking animatedly to families and their kids as they discussed the new venture – and not least eye-catching was her polka-dot dress, which single-handedly stole the show.

The dress in question appears to be by Kiwi designer Emilia Wickstead – a personal favourite label of the Duchess’ and a perfect trans-seasonal option given its long sleeves and midi length.

She paired her loyal old summer wedges with the style – a classic move from Kate the great.

And there was one other thing that stood out above the rest when it came to the royal’s style statement – it appears she’s had a bit of a hair makeover.

You might have noticed a rather light chestnut tone to her iconic tresses, along with a layered chop that looks oh-so-chic for the summer.

Frankly, we’re coveting it all.

In a statement, Duchess Catherine spoke of the new initiative: “Families and carers are at the heart of nurturing the next generation of happy, healthy adults, but sometimes it can be hard to know where to turn to for advice.”

She continued: “Tiny Happy People is an invaluable resource which provides parents and carers with support and tips, as well as simple activities to ensure children develop the language skills they need to have the best possible start in life.

“I am delighted to have been part of its journey and hope families across the UK will enjoy exploring the resources.”

The Duchess of Cambridge has slowly been returning to in-person work in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, with her first outing occurring in late June where she visited a local gardening centre to shine a light on supporting small businesses.

On that occasion, she wore a simple blue Jaeger shirt with a padded vest by Fjällräven along with a pair of jeans designed by Massimo Dutti.

Yep, she’s well and truly nailing that back-to-work wardrobe.
